For those of us who take up writing roles, there are expectations that come with each task, and defining why we do what we do, how we do it and what target to reach is important.

You cannot take up a role and be successful — creative ones or otherwise — if you do not immediately recognize your own personal tenets. Recently I was asked by some leads to respond to a series of questions for suitability and to explain some round ideas about me.

Why I Applied: My background in developing and editing websites and social media posts, articles, and features on a variety of subjects, positions me to substantially impact your organization. With my commitment to cultivating relationships to encourage future connections and stimulate ideas, complemented by my strong technical aptitude, I can man the role advertised.

Role Success: In my opinion, writing roles may require adopting a different style but in principle, driving engagement is the key. So, succeeding in this role means associating with themes that are most relevant, in addition to using a style that is suited for conveying the message. And quite frankly, I welcome the challenge that the writing goal(s) may pose.

Writing Steps: My steps are simple really, but they come in very handy.

a. Research
b. Draft Piece
c. Review and generate feedback (from teammates or someone else within my circle)
d. Edit (modify or expand)
e. Final Draft
f. Check for typos or errors
g. Finish piece
h. Publish.

Writing Target: Creating any piece of writing (fiction, faction or prose poetry), in any role I man, is striving to deliver promptly. And for me, the best way is of course to match or score each piece for relevance and potential for engagement. My goal for writing is to explore a collection of ideas around subjects that resonate with a wide audience and in many cases, a specific target audience. In my current and previous roles, reflecting the same for any writing task remains as some sort of internalized guide. And lastly, I am always looking for ways to improve, new insight and strategy.

What may or may not be immediately obvious to anyone reading this, is that I love writing; to set my imagination free every time. This is probably true for many of us.

For 2021, I will be sharing bits and pieces about my many professional quests. I hope you find it insightful.

Have an amazing 2021!
